Team USA Adds Gold, Silver, and Bronze on Busy Day in Tokyo
TOKYO – The United States delivered another strong day at the 2025 Deaflympics, picking up medals across tennis, swimming, and athletics, culminating with a sensational performance from the men’s 4x100 relay squad.
Bronze Medal Highlights At Ariake Tennis Park, U.S. doubles partners Chelsie Brown and Emily Hangstefer powered through their Bronze medal match against France. The American pair stayed in control from the start, winning 2–0 (6–3, 6–2) and took home Bronze for the United States, the first medal for USA Deaf Tennis since 2013.

In the pool, the U.S. swimmers continued their dominance of these Deaflympics. Brooke Thompson opened the night with a bronze medal and a new American record in the women’s 50m freestyle, finishing in 26.58. Next up was Collin Davis, who battled through a tight men’s 100m butterfly field to claim bronze in 56.67.
Silver Medal Success Carli Cronk found herself on the podium once again, but in unfamiliar territory, with a Silver in the women’s 50m butterfly. Teammate Brooke Thompson joined her on the podium with the Bronze medal.
Over on the track, in front of a packed stadium full of cheering Japanese fans ,the men’s 4x100m relay squad—Gareth Ashton, Jarvis Anderson, Eric Gregory, and Taylor Koss took home a hard-earned Silver medal. Their strong finish of 41.69 placed them behind the Gold-winning Japan team, who won in 41.22.

A Golden Finish The night ended with Team USA’s only gold–and a world record. The mixed 4x100m freestyle relay team of Matthew Klotz, Marcus Titus, Carli Cronk, and Brooke Thompson delivered a thrilling performance, touching the wall in 3:39.66.
