5 May 2020 - USADSF Medical Commission Makes a Statement:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic making its presence all over the world, numerous international events have been either postponed or cancelled until further notice. This is a very fluid situation as decisions may be different tomorrow and in two days from now. Although ICSD makes a new competition schedule due to the impact of COVID-19, this does not indicate that Team USA will be able to attend those events. The USADSF Medical Commission emphasizes that we make our decisions in accordance with the guidance and recommendations outlined by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) regarding travelling to the international competitions moving forward. We will continue to closely monitor the situation before making a recommendation to the USADSF board. We stress that our number one priority is safety and health of our athletes and staff. To date, there have been no status changes in the guidance by CDC with travel restrictions and/or possible risks. Please continue to consult with the medical commission for guidance regarding safety in planning to participate in national and international competitions.
