ANTALYA, TURKEY – Ukraine’s powerhouse volleyball teams in both genders continued their golden streak at the 8th European Deaf Sports Organization (EDSO) volleyball tournament, which was held on 12-21 May 2011 in Antalya, Turkey.
In the men’s group, Ukraine men swept Russia in three sets, and Turkey defeated Germany 3-0 for the bronze. The Ukrainian women used the same broom to defeat Italy, 3-0. Russia won a 3-1 match against Belarus in the women's bronze medal match. Ten men’s and nine women’s teams participated.
Note: Ukraine men’s and women’s volleyball teams along with the men’s team from Russia will travel to the United States to participate in an invitational tournament at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC during the week of July 31-August 6, 2011.
