General Information

USA Deaf Sports Federation is sending a team of 185 to Sofia, Bulgaria for the 22nd Summer Deaflympics. The official website of the Sofia Deaflympics is Sofia 2013.

All the National Sport Organizations (NSOs) that are attending the Sofia Deaflympics (men and women's basketball, beach volleyball, bowling, cycling, martial arts, women's soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, women's volleyball, and wrestling) are conducting their own training camps at designated venues across the United States prior to departure for the Summer Deaflympics.

The U.S. Team will depart on 22 July in order to arrive to Bulgaria before the Opening Ceremonies of the 22nd Summer Deaflympics starts on 26 July, 2013 at 19:00 at the Arena Armeecs in Sofia. The Deaflympics will continue until the Closing Ceremony on 4 August, 2013 at 20:00.

The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf has released several videos on its YouTube channel (ICSDchannel) updating the deaf sports community on the Deaflympics and the venues for all the competitions.

For our Deaflympians

Each NSO must submit a roster of Deaflympians to the USADSF Board for their approval. Once the roster is approved, the Federation will be in touch with each approved Deaflympian to provide them with a personalized username and password for use to enter the 2013 USA Deaflympics Team website.

Each athlete should have received two files from their NSOs to help them with their fundraising goal. In addition to the $2,350 each athlete must fundraise to cover costs in Bulgaria, they also need to fundraise to cover their international travel and training camp expenses. These two expenses are separate from the $2,350 payable to USADSF. If you have not received these two files, please contact your NSO.
