New Official Summer and Winter Deaflympics Logo
Press Release
FREDERICK, MD June 25, 2003 Deaflympics, a major quadrennial Olympic-equivalent for the Deaf, finally has a new and official Deaflympic logo.
In May 2001, the International Olympic Committee approved the request from ICSD for a change of name from Deaf World Games to Deaflympics.
With input from delegates during the 38th ICSD Congress in February 2003, the logo design was then modified and recently approved by the ICSD Management Team.
The logo designer is Mr. Ralph Fernandez, a 1985 silver medalist in 1000m-sprint cycling. Mr. Fernandez, a professional graphic and web designer, was selected among deaf designers to finalize the design. Detailed description of the logo will be released shortly.
