Are you a Former Deaflympian?
We at USADSF recently began an effort to reach all former Deaflympians - every single one. Why now? We believe the future of deaf sports and opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing athletes will depend on your inspiration and involvement. You are the ones that have first-hand experience in the joy and value of participating in Deaflympics. We need to spread the word on how important this opportunity is for young deaf and hard of hearing athletes.
We would like to establish a network of former deaflympians for the following reasons:
- To share anecdotes with various audiences, including youth and potential supporters
- To support local young athletes at events/gatherings
- To help broaden our network of supporters - people who truly believe in deaf sports and Deaflympics
We're excited about the potential benefits that a such a network will do for the organization, for youth, and for yourselves. Having a reunion of U.S. participation in Deaflympics and a nationwide deaf sports museum are two ideas that we'd like to make happen. Your support will be key.
As a way for us to keep in touch with you and to distribute an electronic newsletter, we would like to have the following information:
- Name and maiden name
- Current mailing and email addresses
- Which Deaflympics did you compete in? And which sport(s)?
- Did you earn any medals?
Please e-mail the information to D. Cole Zulauf, Assistant to the USADSF
